Day 01
Arrival and Preparation
Morning: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
- Arrive at Entebbe and meet your guide.
- Transfer to Kasese (approx. 6-7 hours drive), enjoying the scenic views of the Ugandan countryside.
Afternoon: Check-In and Lunch
- Check in at your lodge or hotel in Kasese. Options range from budget accommodations to more comfortable lodges.
- Enjoy lunch, featuring local cuisine and refreshing beverages.
Evening: Briefing and Equipment Check
- Meet with your trekking guide for a briefing about the upcoming trek. Discuss the itinerary, safety protocols, and what to expect.
- Conduct an equipment check, ensuring you have all necessary gear for the trek.
Day 02
Trekking to Nyabitaba Hut
Morning: Start the Trek
- After an early breakfast, begin your trek from the Nyakalengija trailhead. The journey takes you through lush rainforest, where you may spot various bird species and monkeys.
- Enjoy the sounds of nature as you hike along the well-marked trails.
Afternoon: Arrive at Nyabitaba Hut
- Reach Nyabitaba Hut (2,650 meters) in the early afternoon. Take some time to rest and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding peaks.
- Enjoy a packed lunch while soaking in the breathtaking scenery.
Evening: Dinner and Overnight
- Gather for dinner prepared by your guide. Share stories and experiences from the day with fellow trekkers.
- Spend the night at Nyabitaba Hut, surrounded by the beauty of the mountains.
Day 03
Explore and Return
Morning: Short Trek to the Mahoma Lake
- After breakfast, embark on a shorter trek to Mahoma Lake (approx. 2-3 hours), which offers a serene atmosphere and beautiful views.
- Spend time exploring the area, taking photographs, and enjoying the tranquil environment.
Afternoon: Return Trek to Nyakalengija
- Begin your descent back to Nyakalengija, enjoying different perspectives of the stunning landscape.
- Arrive at the trailhead and transfer back to your lodge in Kasese.
Evening: Departure or Relaxation
- Depending on your travel plans, either prepare for your departure to Entebbe or spend an extra night in Kasese to relax and explore the local area.
